“There are definitely more pools in the city than there used to be,” he said.
“But there’s still some people in the community that still do not want to have a pool.”
Mr Dorn said he hoped to make a commitment to the community by this summer and would also consider making improvements to the swimming pool in the future.
“We have a huge number of pools and lots of people coming in from out of town and they’re not having fun,” he told AAP.
“I’d like to see a little bit of that back in there.”
The pool will be operated by a partnership between the city and the Harbour City Council.
