The barbie swimming pools of Los Angeles and other cities are now open to kids as well as adults.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced Tuesday that the “Barbie” pool in Sherman Oaks, California, will open to children under 12.
The pool will be open from 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and children must wear a mask when swimming.
The pool was designed for children ages 1 to 10 years old, and children can use it up to 10 times per day.
The park is a popular spot for families, and the pool also provides recreational activities for families.
The Shermans’ swimming pool will serve as a place for families to enjoy swimming with their kids, according to the county.
“This is the first of many great things that are coming in our park,” said Shermans resident, Stephanie Kavanagh.
“This is great for our community.”
The pool’s open hours will remain unchanged until late 2019, when it will be closed to the public.
The pools are the latest to have been opened to the general public by the parks department, which was established in September 2017.
The new rules come on the heels of an investigation by the department into safety issues at the swimming pools.
Officials said the pools were overcrowded and lacked proper signage.
