Swimming Pool Service’s plan to increase capacity to 2,000 people is ‘just a start’

The swimming pool service will increase capacity by 2,100 people from 1,500 to 2.5,000, Vice News reported Thursday.

The new capacity will come in addition to the 2,600 people the service has now.

A spokesperson for the service told Vice News that it is a “just a starting point.”

The increase will be in addition the 2.8 million additional square feet of pool space the service plans to add over the next 10 years.

A new plan to build more facilities was announced in January.

The service announced a $4.6 million plan to add a 50-seat indoor swimming pool in its new Philadelphia facility.
